Projectdetails

Introduction

Electrical brain stimulation has been successfully used since the 1990s to treat neurological illnesses, particularly movement disorders. Most of the devices for this novel approach are based on the old pacemaker technology.

Challenges in Device Development

Companies are unwilling to take device development risks and rely on established technology, limiting new therapy developments. Many neurological diseases are still treated with pharmaceuticals only, which has limited effectiveness and causes severe side effects.

Advances in Neuromodulation

Neuromodulation and electrical stimulation research have increased in recent decades. Additional recording capabilities and closed-loop therapy expand therapeutic options.

CorTec's Vision

CorTec aims to provide novel implantable technology to overcome the current limitations. This technology enables researchers, medical institutions, and industry to develop new therapies and devices.

Future Plans

We plan to finalize the development of our technology for stroke rehabilitation, conduct clinical trials, and obtain market approval in 2029. This is expected to generate $250M in sales by 2030.
