Projectdetails

Introduction

About 40M people in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) suffer from epilepsy-related seizures, but not all are diagnosed and treated due to the lack of electroencephalogram (EEG) devices and neurologists in these regions.

Project Overview

BrainCapture (BC) is developing an EEG-based diagnosis service (BrainCap) for epilepsy and other neurological disorders that fits LMIC needs. The service is designed to be:

  • Affordable
  • Utilizes mobile phone infrastructure
  • Does not require an EEG expert on-site for data capture due to an AI-based Quality Control (QC) algorithm

Data is analyzed by remotely placed neurologists who provide a diagnosis and treatment plan via the BrainCap app/cloud.

Clinical Need

Our field trials revealed that there is a clinical need for BrainCap.

Next Steps

Now, we will:

  1. Finish the product design
  2. Optimize the QC algorithm
  3. Extend clinical validation to multiple sites to convince KOLs in several primary markets

Investment Opportunity

The EIC investment will be key to creating an EEG market in LMICs, leveraging a significant business opportunity for BC.
