Projectdetails

Introduction

AkknaTek’s device-based solution is introducing a unique imaging technology to overcome the current hurdles of nowadays cataract surgery. It is designed to offer full control over the lens position at any point of the treatment, for the first time guaranteeing the best possible results for every lens implanted.

Solution Overview

The solution consists of a set of 3 modules which can also be used independently:

  1. Pre-operative Diagnostic System

    • Allows detection of capsular bag dislocation.
    • Calculates the optimum lens design.
    • Eliminates IOLs not suitable for the respective patient to reduce the need for potential re-surgery right from the start.
  2. Image-Guided System During Surgery

    • Enables real-time monitoring of the IOL placement.
    • Provides computer-assisted guidance to ensure accurate placement based on the visual axis.
  3. Post-operative Diagnostic System

    • Measures the IOL position after surgery.
    • Helps the surgeon re-align the IOL if it has moved after surgery.
