Projectdetails

Introduction

The EU LIFE Programme makes a significant contribution towards climate neutrality and a healthy environment within the EU. LIFE accelerates and empowers implementing organisations to make change happen by providing project funding.

Participation Rate in Germany

Compared to other Member States, the participation rate of Germany in the LIFE programme is one of the lowest, if not the lowest. Therefore, it is necessary to make the LIFE programme more visible to German applicants and to give all needed support for their successful participation. A stronger German LIFE-NCP with a wider outreach is needed.

Current Limitations

Due to limited resources, the German LIFE Advisory Office (NCP) is currently restricted to basic activities such as:

  • A helpdesk
  • A minimum of additional public outreach
  • National Info Days
  • Website support

Proactive Approach of the TA-CAP Project

With its proactive approach, the German TA-CAP project will expand public outreach by providing:

  1. Explainer videos
  2. Articles
  3. Dedicated tailored information events for specific sectors
  4. Workshops for multipliers
  5. Proposal writing workshops

All activities will be aligned with ongoing DE-NCP activities.

Expected Outcomes

The awareness of the LIFE programme in Germany will be enhanced, measured through:

  • An increase of 50% in downloads from the DE-NCP website
  • Higher participation of relevant sectors
  • A greater number of consultations

It is targeted that by 2025, the number of eligible DE-LIFE proposals will be 20% higher than in 2022 and that Germany will leave its last place in the participation rate in LIFE.

Long-lasting Impact

This will elevate Germany to a stronger LIFE actor within the EU, using successful instruments that are common in well-established and successful NCPs of other member states and developing modern tools to reach a variety of target groups eligible under LIFE. As all products and experiences of the TA-CAP project can be used or further developed not just within the 3 years project duration, the project will have a long-lasting effect for the promotion of LIFE.
